"Fill the Boot" Fundraiser Helps Local Families Fight Muscular Dystrophy

Marin firefighters will take to four intersections in Marin, April 22, 2012, in an effort to raise funds to help local families affected by debilitating muscle diseases.  The "Fill the Boot" fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association raises more than $30,000 each year in Marin, when firefighters ask motorist to drop spare change in empty fire boots.  2012 will find find firefighters at East Blithedale in Mill Valley, 3rd and Grand in San Rafael, The Hub in San Anselmo, and Rowland at Vintage Oaks in Novato.

During October, 2011, all Marin Firefighters are participating in Breast Cancer Awareness Month throught the IAFF and Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
