The city of San Diego needs to build and staff 10 new fire stations at a cost of well over $100 million to reach acceptable response times, according to a study released Monday.
It's been a year since the City of San Diego started rolling brownouts at local fire stations. Most agree response times are slower, but the question is how long will it last. "We've seen response times increase significantly," said San Diego Fire Chief Javier Mainar.
