Marin Firefighters Endorse Jared Huffman for Congress

Marin Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 1775, representing the professional firefighters of Marin County, California, is proud to endorse Jared Huffman's candidacy for US Congress.  We believe that Jared Huffman is the best choice to represent the important and diverse communities of California's North Coast in the US House of Representatives.

Marin's firefighters have known Jared since he served as a local leader on the Board of Directors of the Marin Municipal Water District.  While serving the Marin community, Jared displayed leadership and an understanding of the complex public safety issues related to firefighting and emergency response, including issues such as the MMWD "Fire Flow" ugrades and emergency response and fire planning within the Water District's jurisdiction.  

Since his election to the Assembly in November 2006, Jared Huffman has earned respect as a legislator who tackles complex public policy challenges, works tirelessly, and gets results – often by reaching across the aisle to forge consensus on difficult issues. 

He has demonstrated that his legislative priorities include protecting public safety, maintaing emergency response capabilities, protecting worker's rights, protecting the environment, and creating new jobs through policies that grow our economy and protect California's leadership on the world stage.

Jared has overcome the gridlock in Sacramento to become one of the state’s most prolific lawmakers, passing more than 50 pieces of successful legislation in his first five years as a legislator.

Marin's firefighters are confident that in the US Congress, Jared will continue to lead on issues such as public safety, protecting employee rights, and maintaing safe working conditions and fair compensation for public safety workers in the Bay Area, California, and nationwide.
