After extensive interviews and research in conjunction with our member associations, we are confident that these candidates have the necessary backgrounds, qualities, and experience to meet the needs of the individual offices sought while keeping the public’s best interest in mind.

Marin Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 1775, conducts lengthy candidate interviews before issuing any endorsement under the direction of our Political Director and Political Action Committee.  We look for candidates that support worker's rights, public safety, believe in fair compensation, workplace safety, and show a broad understanding of the issues that effect firefighters, labor, and the fire service in general.  We base our endorsements on the endorsement policies of the IAFF and our Local 1775 bylaws and policies.

Our endorsements are non-partisan.  Each endorsement decision is made based on the candidate’s stance, knowledge, and philosophy as related to public safety, fire service, and labor issues. Politics within the IAFF are an issue of mutual respect. The IAFF respects its members’ and the public's right to vote for whomever they choose.  Please respect the IAFF and Local 1775's right to endorse candidates, regardless of party, who demonstrate their support for the IAFF and professional fire fighters. The IAFF respects the right of state associations and individual affiliates to endorse the candidate that they believe best represents the views of their membership at the state and local level.
