 Gov. Jerry Brown and Democratic leaders in the Assembly and Senate have forged a compromise state budget that is expected to be approved as early as tomorrow. The accord assumes an additional $4 billion in additional revenue, but does not include any plan to extend existing temporary tax hikes. If the new revenue doesn't materialize, additional "trigger" cuts will go into effect, cutting more deeply into schools and public safety.
