Shop Stewards: Our local will be hosting its second Fire Ops 101 event this spring. For those of you who are not familiar with the program, Fire Ops 101 is a one day hands-on event where our local decision makers get to suit up in PPE and experience the issues that we face as Firefighters in Marin. At our last Fire Ops, we put local Mayors and Board members from throughout Marin through Ross Valley's burn trailer, Truck 54's extrication equipment and various other evolutions that demonstrated why adequate staffing and training are important to us.
Please take some time and think about the decision makers in your community that affect your working conditions. Mayors, Council members, City Managers even community activists. These are the people that we need to get our message to. Jason Hatfield from San Rafael Fire will be coordinated the Fire Ops. Please contact him with the following information:

1 or 2 members from your department that will be responsible for contacting your decision maker and coordinating their needs with Jason.
