Welcome to the new Local 1775 website

Marin Professional Firefighters introduces our new website in July 2009,  to better communicate with the public and members. Including daily news updates, video and photo galleries, and a members only networking and communication section that allows Local 1775 members to interact, discuss andshare ideas in a social networking format, with integration into poular services like Facebook and twitter.

New Domain Name: www.iaff1775.org

The IAFF Local 1775 website will now be located at www.iaff1775.org and www.marinfirefighters.org. The old address, www.iaff1775.com will be online until all information is transferred from the old site.  This is one step in a multifaceted approach to better reach the Marin community at large, as well as our members.

Los Angeles County Fire Captain Phil Arreguin Dies from Heart Attack

Los Angeles County Firefighters, Local 1014 is deeply saddened to announce the unexpected loss of one its long time members. On July 1st, Phil Arreguin died of a sudden heart attack. Brother Arreguin was dedicated to his profession and his family. Arreguin began his career with the Los Angeles County Fire Department in 1989. He moved through the ranks quickly, holding such positions as Engineer, Fire Fighter, Fire Inspector and Fire Captian. Brother Arreguin is described by his coworkers as fiercely dedicated to his profession and extremely reliable. He is also remembered for his ear to ear grin.

Vallejo Closes Third Fire Station Since Declaring Bankruptcy

In a move that further compromises an already desperately understaffed fire department, Vallejo is closing yet another fire station. The station closing -- Vallejo's third since it began its disastrous bankruptcy effort -- will nearly double response times for some residents, and could extend response time to up to 15 minutes in some areas.
