Evacuation orders have been lifted and full containment is near for the 34,000-acre Telegraph Fire, which threatened Yosemite National Park. The blaze destroyed more than 100 structures, including 28 residences. Roughly three-dozen minor injuries were reported, but no deaths.

Berkeley Firefighters Local #1227 is saddened to announce the loss of one of their brother firefighters in the line of duty. Apparatus Operator Jay Randall Walter, 54, lost his battle with job-related cancer April 6th.
